Senior Quality Assurance Specialist

Job description

A Medical Proofreader/Quality Assurance Specialist works with medical professionals submitting medical/legal reports (Post 104 Accident Benefits, Catastrophic, Torts) to make sure that the final report that goes out to clients is of the highest quality. The job is equal parts copy editing, fact checking, research, and customer service.

When reports are submitted, the QA specialist carefully reads through them and their accompanying medical documentation, first looking for omissions, errors and inconsistencies, as well as comments the specialist may have made that fall outside of their professional scope. Suggested corrections are offered back to the medical professional where necessary.

Desired Skills and Experience

As the ideal candidate for this position you have a post-secondary degree in health sciences, (preferred but not a prerequisite) and have experience proofreading Independent Medical reports.

You possess the following specific skills and talents:

  • Experience reviewing Independent Medical Evaluations, SABS
  • Excellent organization and co-ordination skills to follow through on specific file matters, ensure timeliness, comprehensiveness and accuracy of report contents
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deal effectively with medical professionals, to obtain or clarify information, and build the medical roster base
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking and deductive reasoning skills to interpret information, and identify specific areas that require further investigation, action etc.
  • Assertiveness and a sense of urgency to co-ordinate activities with others, obtain your cooperation and support
  • Excellent computer skills in MS Word and Excel
